Luigi's Mansion fangame concept

I may go back to making games again, now that I've learned some more stuff about Unity... If somebody knows the last Mario Maker project I started, I needed a lot of sprites and code I didn't know how to use. I have seen some videos about Luigi's Mansion losing its essence and thought about doing a game with the first LM's atmosphere... I'm right now making the main movement, flashlight, and Poltergust mechanics... The problem is I need artists, both for textures and 3D models. I have some experience in blender, enough to model furniture and stuff, but I think my models have too many polygons and are overall messy. I'd like to give it the 3DS graphics, I don't like the switch ones, being modern makes it less scary... But not as old as the GameCube either since the computer screen has a bigger resolution.

PLOT
Mario and Luigi are called to do a plumbing job in a mansion, but the owners are out, so they just give the Mario Bros. the keys. Once inside, Mario starts fixing the kitchen and Luigi the bathroom upstairs. Suddenly, lights turn off and doors lock, but you have a flashlight in the toolbox. You try to find Mario, but can't enter the kitchen. He has the keys of the house as well, making you unable to leave. Luigi uses the phone to call E. Gadd, and here's the interesting part: you will only talk with him from inside the house, blocked by a wall, so you can only communicate when you're near a window, giving you the feeling you need to go all by yourself, alone. Would be another plan to keep switching between Mario and Luigi's POVs (not too much, Luigi clearly plays the main role) and see what happens to Mario too, because knowing how Mario was trapped is something that was left pending in the first game of the saga, and I'm not saying its bad, but may give players curiosity to add it.

Now I need help with the movement keys. My first idea was to use WASD to move, left and right click to switch between flashlight and poltergust, and move the mouse to rotate Luigi. I find it pretty annoying though, at least for me. The bad thing about rotating with the movement keys is you can only move in 8 directions, which is a con when you need to catch ghosts. Another bad thing about it is the key to use. This is not a joystick you can move with one finger, but three for the WASD keys, so you will need to use your other hand to rotate and use the poltergust?
If anybody has got ideas for the controls please let me know in the comments!

Finally, I want to make the game creepier than the current ones... Still keeping it family-friendly, but darker than the current ones, especially to fix the last two games where ghosts literally dance with you and are scared of you, also is very unrealistic and overall is a comedy before a horror game.

I have a couple of concepts for enemies, but I don't want to spoil all the fun. If someone wants to help me, tell me (this is still a very concept version, and unless I manage to have time and resources it will stay like that, but found the idea interesting so I hope we can do something with it!)

I didn't know if add the thread in this section but I hope it's the correct one...
