[Rejected] Request for Down-vote button to be set in place

Since some users have difficulty grasping general social norms(or simply; what is nice and what is wrong, what is acceptable etc.) I think it would be a very nice idea to implement a down-vote feature. Of course; if the feature begins to get abused it can be modified; warns can be given out etc. but when I see posts like this

This could happen. But it's more likely that I'll make a spambot a forum mod or that Taylor Swift will tweet about MFGG and we'll suddenly have half a million users online at the same time.

I can't ban an MFGGer I know in real life!

Vinny, I am just happy we have leaders like you who will not judge and lock at first glance but instead take the time to reply and seriously consider my idea. I truly do love this place and wish nothing but the best for it.

Might I suggest the next best thing though? Since HylianDev is a real life friend why not ban another member who is harming the community?

The user of the thread was told why it was a bad idea. Also take a trip at YouTube, and they have a dislike button and look what happened as a result.
It's still the worst idea, even if Bans/Warnings are being given out for people abusing it, as people could still abuse it no matter how many Warnings/Bans they received, as IIRC Perma-Bans no longer happen on MFGG.
Also if that post makes your Blood "boil" then take this quote "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it".

I don't see how that quote is supposed to stop my blood from boiling.

Other than that, I'd say your post was quality enough for an upvote besides the quoted section.

We have already, almost unanimously, rejected this idea and stated why in the thread linked by Cut Man/Yoshi 2000.

However, here is my current stance on it:

A downvote on a post is more prone to causing issues given its negative tone and missing context. If you'd like to give a member more constructive feedback on their posts, then please do so in a message instead (preferably in a private message so you don't derail threads).

Meanwhile, before the like button counterpoints, the 1up/like button prevents a bunch of "I agree" and similarly empty/samey posts on top of being a nice, thematic reward for contributions. Hopefully, someday, we do more with 1ups and coins.
