I've been running for 2 years on and off. I'm running again cause it's summer here. I've been thinking of going back to the gym which I've been on and off with for 6 years at least (Not much to show for it).

What about you guys? Do you get the heart rate going?

Great thread! Over the past year I've gotten into exercise when I never really was into it. It's been a huge difference for me, I used to feel like my body was just getting worse every day and now it's just the opposite, I'm getting stronger all the time.

I do DDPY 6 days a week and have kept up with it for almost 9 months now. It's a program created by the 3-time WCW Champion Diamond Dallas Page that he accidentally invented when healing from a horrible back injury. He talks about it here:

and here's a video of one of the many people who made a miraculous recovery with the program:

There's a lot of stories just like his on YouTube that are pretty inspirational.

I can't say I personally have experienced anything that miraculous but I'm also not really doing it 100% right LOL. But even with what I am doing I've gained a lot of strength and stamina that I never had before. I don't think I could ever do a pushup before in my life and now they're not really hard at all. And I can walk pretty far without any issues where even under a mile was just too much for me before.

All in all I love it and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get into exercise but doesn't know where to start, it's an all-in-one program that doesn't involve any expensive equipment so if you don't like it you don't lose much of an investment.

This is my best progression. The picture on the left was 2016 January and on the right was 2017 July.

I lost 70 pounds that year and a half. I gained back 30 since then but that was winter weight... I'll lose it.

I do a lot of walking and the occasional jog. If its cold (which it is most of the time), I'll do stretches or jumping jacks every once in a while to keep from getting too tired.

Gotta stay active!

I have been trying to do a little bit of jogging (about a mile or more if I have time) and some weights every day during the break I have between work shifts. I've been consistent with it so far, only missing days I've really had to miss. During the school semester I was awful with exercising, only going to the gym once a week at most. I've decided this upcoming semester I'd keep weights and maybe a pull-up bar if I have a place for it in my room so that I can have easier access to some form of exercise even if I don't have time to walk to go to the gym.
