I need help with the body of my Nes Styled modern Mario Sprite

I am working on a sprite for an original sprite of mario using nes colors, which takes heavy inspiration from super mario world. However, i cant seem to get the body proportions and pose of Mario, and would like someone who is more skilled with pixel art to help. just remember to stick with the 3 color rule of the nes.

I tried to fix the image in the original post, but I couldn't get it to show up there, strangely. Here is the image (I added an up-scaled version of the sprite so that its easier to see):

@Codingkid01 - To be honest, if you're not going to make the sprite yourself, assuming that you're planning on using the sprites in a fangame, I suggest that you try recoloring SMW's sprites, that is, if it will fit the style your going for. It will be much less time consuming than making sprites form scratch.

It's hard to say without the arms since they play a huge part in his body's shape, especially on small scale sprites. I'd have a go at the arms and then show us that version. One thing I can say looking at this though is that he seems way too tall.

I went and tried improving it myself, along with adding an actual SMW version

The main problems were minor stuff such as the thin proportions of the original and the feet being weird and stubby. Another problem is shading when it comes to the Fire Pallete. My version still looks off, particularly in the feet overlap and the way the face blends into the shirt. buttons could have been better too.

Thats better but those legs look way too long still. Mario has to have a stubby body or he looks like Luigi.
