Help with Toad Strikes Back (the prototype)

I was playing the Toad Strikes Back prototype (or Toad Strikes Back 0 as I like to think about it), which is really good, from the MFGG 10th Anniversary Time Capsule (link: https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&par...2&id=25026). However, there's a boss that I can't seem to beat no matter what I do. I posted a comment on the main site, asking for help. I'll quote it here too since I feel like it would be more noticeable in the forums.

I can't hurt the weird Wario robot boss. No matter what I do, I always get blown up by the explosion. Does anyone know how I'm supposed to beat him?

i don't know too, but im guessing the boss is unfinish or broken.

That's what I was thinking, since the submission description calls the games incomplete. However, according to the TSB prototype description -- found in the time capsule's menu -- TD considers the game to be complete. Plus, in the comments, Nite Shadow was talking about the credits of the game. I haven't seen the credits yet, so I assumed that they must come after the final boss. I'll quote the comment for proof:

For the life of me, i cant remember, what graphics did i do for that one?
