GM 8.0 or 8.1?

I'm trying to decide whether to use Game maker 8.0 or 8.1

8.0 Pros:
No watermark
Compatible with 8.1
Cons:
No room zoom feature, which is really important to me
8.1 Pros
Room zoom feature
Cons:
Watermark
Sometimes but not always compatible with 8.0

So, which should I use?

I would've prefer 8.0 over 8.1 from my experiences. If you want any zooming on Game Maker 8.0, I recommend using Windows Magnifier software to go with it as an alternative solution.

Ooh I was in this EXACT dilemma 10 years ago. I settled on 8.0, because the watermark made my games look very unpolished, and I could just use the 8.1 to 8.0 converter which worked perfectly for me.

When GM 8.1 came out, I kept using GM 8.0. GM 8.1's watermarks were horrid, and I never did get used to its room editor.

In addition: before Game Maker 8.1 exists, I usually shift the object positions and then edit objects that's outside the room as a workaround.
