GAMEMAKER PROBLEM

So I've been trying to load my game, Collect the Cake Mario. It was developed for a competition on this site. I can't seem to load the game data at all. GameMaker immediately goes to (not responding). Can I get help with this? The problem only popped up when I added sound effects.

Maybe there's another problem I can't think of, but I'm wondering if you imported a corrupt sound file.

Try commenting out any functions that use the sound effects. See if that fixes the problem.

If that doesn't work, try deleting the sounds from the source. Then see what happens if you add them back one at a time.

I can' even load the game. How would I delete the files from the source if I can' open it?

Well, that's not good. You might be able to remove them from the project folder itself. Definitely make a backup before trying this, though.

(Tread carefully, as this might not even be the issue.)

Ok I'll try that out. Damn, really wanted that game on this site.

Did you make sure to try loading another project? It could be as simple a fix as reinstalling Game Maker if it's the program itself.

It sounds like it may have corrupted. Try loading one of the backups.
