When I was around 10 years old, we lived in a trailer park with one of those drainage tunnels that you could walk through and we would play in there but one time I was alone and saw a shape of a person in shadow, with the light from the other side of the tunnel behind them. They ran off towards the other end of the tunnel and I chased after them until I tripped and landed in that gross water. When I looked up, they were gone... and yet they wouldn't have had enough time to make it out of the tunnel before I had looked back up. I never could explain it other than maybe my mind was playing tricks on me in the dark.

In my early 30s, my boyfriend convinced me that his parent's house was haunted and would play pranks on me all the time. However, one time he was all the way upstairs asleep and I went into the garage for a snack, only to find the door locked when I had returned. I yelled and yelled at my boyfriend to let me in, telling him it wasn't funny but no response. His parents' dog started barking when I told him to speak and finally roused my boyfriend who let me in. I was convinced he had pranked me again, but he was all the way upstairs and asleep at the time. Only thing I can think of, rationally, that happened was that I had to engaged the lock by accident somehow... and then the next morning my boyfriend tried to claim a ghost had left the Ouija board out and that was the last time I'd believe him. LOL

 

[Fun With Despair]

I was like 7 and living in an old house with my parents. I was lying in bed, not even really tired, and it was maybe about 10:00 PM? Suddenly, my door opens as I lie there. The light behind the door is really bright to my eyes because I was in the dark so long, so I can't see well, but a silhouette of a guy is standing there, looking at me. My door then closes, and I get out of bed, thinking my dad was checking on me or something.

I open up the door, and out in the hallway there's nothing. It's just my normal empty hallway, lights are off. I walk down to my parents' room, and both of them are completely asleep, with no indication either of them were awake.

There wouldn't have been enough time in the time it took me to get up and into the hall for my dad to get back to bed and lie down, so even if he WAS checking on me and went back to sleep, I would have for sure caught him before he got back into bed AND fell asleep.

last week i was at my ex bf's place trying to sleep, i felt something close around the front of my neck and squeeze slightly, though a few minutes prior to that i felt a hand on the pillow above my right shoulder that also depressed the inflatable guest bed i was sleeping on. i freaked out. kitty had often stared at things with this terrified expression, when nothing could be seen. ex had seen shadow people a few times home alone. the second he moved into this place, which had some disabled handles and things by the front door, toilet, shower etc, somehow i knew that someone had died in this apartment.
