DONE Up the number of replys needed for a topic to be a "hot topic"

Way too many topics are hot topics rn, and from what I can tell it only takes like 5 replys to becone one? That's hardly anything, it should at least be a full page on default settings, maybe two.

I totally agree. The MyBB defaults don't make a lot of sense for a reasonably active forum - any topic that gets 20 replies or 150 views automatically becomes a hot topic. That's a substantial percentage of the topics on MFGG, and in the future, topics will accumulate more views simply from search engines crawling the site.

I changed it to a minimum of 40 replies or 1,000 views, but this still might need to be increased.

If this were stack overflow, 20 replies would indeed be a very hot topic. Not for a hangout forum, though.
