This thread may or may not be dying, but I have a few sprites in show just in case nothing is pointless. I'm currently thinking: What if 2D Mario never skipped N64 or GameCube?
I may call this "Super Mario Fantasy" or so but as a teaser, I've pre-rendered the ideal common enemy and equivalent to SMW Galoombas and SML Goombos. There will be artwork and sprites in GIFs as well (Yes, animated with no link required this time!) ![]() ![]() Artwork of Goomball ![]() Goomball Walking ![]() Goomball Front-Facing ![]() Goomball Rolling

Well, this forum thread isn't too active these days, but that isn't gonna stop me from showcasing 3D Models that are admittingly under slow progress (reason for slow progress is the usual; busy with life, and other serious matters)
Recently I made this here thread regarding 3D modelling and CGI Animation, I said how I have been making a bunch of 3D Models and animations since 2021, after learning Blender3D and other 3D modelling software. I think this thread might be appropriate for me to showcase some of those unfinished, but still amazing models. This one here is Spider-Donkey, loosely based off an Iranian book character of the same name. The way this 3D model is styled is inspired by Sony's Spiderverse movies, specifically the shading style of the Spider-people that have a more 2D vibe to them ![]() The model has a very painterly shader, with outlines to make it stand out. ![]() This other one is a CGI take on Libby from The Ghost & Molly McGee, one of my favorite cartoons! ![]() This model is meant to resemble her original 2D design from the original show as accuratley as possible, while giving it detail that takes advantage of it being 3D, such as detailed hair strands, and realistic textures. Similar to how Mikros Animation handled the Asterix characters in 3D, those are some of the best CGI designs I have ever seen. They not only look exactly like how they do in the comics, but they also look great in terms of being CGI animated characters. I highly recommend both the CGI Asterix movies by the way, they're really good. Also check out the 2025 Netflix Series! While blocking out the model, I carefully tried to make sure that her silhouette matches her original design from every angle, I used the official turnaround sheet of Libby as reference ![]() ![]() Getting Libby's [MESSY] hair right in the blockout wasn't easy to say the least, but i'm happy it looks good so far, I hope it'll look even better when they're actual hair strands instead of blobs of clay. Both the Spider-Donkey and Libby models are not rigged, and they still need a lot of work done. I also have yet to model the other 4 or so characters. It'll happen if I get the motivation to finish these probably, but so far I like the results a lot. |
