For a long time, the MFGG mainsite has occasionally had issues with recently-accepted submissions not showing up in mainsite updates like they're supposed to.
A couple of examples:
1. This mainsite update lacks a bunch of sprite submissions I know we accepted in August.
2. Super Mario Continuance didn't show up in mainsite updates even though we obviously accepted it.
I don't think the mainsite software upgrades I made earlier this year have any bearing on this. It's a known bug that first occurred years ago, and I didn't make any changes to the logic that determines whether a submission should appear in a mainsite update.
Sadly, I don't have a solution for this issue at this time, which is why I'm posting this in Suggestions. This way, the issue can be tracked (and investigated by anyone who's interested) until it's resolved.
One possible culprit would be a mismatch between the time zone used on the server and the time zone used in the database system. A closely-related possibility is that the database could be storing a time that appears to be in the future, which could be an issue if a QC staffer in Europe accepted a submission and a QC staffer in North America posted a mainsite update shortly thereafter. But this is all speculation. Further analysis is necessary.
