The Messenger is a recently released indie game that's currently on the Nintendo Switch and Steam, featuring a time travel gimmick where the game switches between 8-bit and 16-bit styles.

I recently beat the game myself and I had a blast playing through it. The soundtrack's an absolute killer and the controls are also some of the best I've seen in a long while. Definitely check it out if you're a fan of either the 8 or 16-bit eras of gaming!
