MFGG Holiday Tree 2023

Ho Ho Ho, people of MFGG! The holidays are coming, and this year we are bringing back the MFGG Holiday Tree!! Yaaaaaaaay. The MFGG Holiday Tree is an MFGG tradition in which you guys get to make fun ornaments that we will use to decorate our currently very drab tree. Oh yeah, one more thing. If you don't help us decorate the tree, you will be cursed by the Grinch!

Our tree is now complete!



Here are the rules for the Holiday Tree event. (I spoilered it because the event is over)

You guys are in charge of making some nice decorations to make our sorry little tree all pretty! The ornaments don't have to be anything fancy, but we do like to see some amount of effort put into them, even if that just means picking out an image that makes for a nice ornament and adding a bit of your own holiday flair! Basically, if everyone votes that your ornament sucks we won't put it up. The only rules are:

• Ornaments must have hooks so that they can hang onto the tree. It'll look nicer, and it'll make them look more like ornaments. Some exceptions can be made - for example, if you make lights or garlands for the tree, those won't need hooks.
  
• Ornaments can't be random nonsense images. They can be funny, but they need to look nice. We want a pretty tree!
  

That's pretty much it! You can submit as many ornaments as you'd like to, and they can be drawings, pixel art, whatever. I'll update the tree every once in a while to add the ornaments to it. Have fun! Let's try to have it all done by December 24th!

We got quite a few ornaments from the Discord already! I've updated the tree to show what we have so far. I'll shift them around as we get new ornaments, so it'll look nicer by the final. I'm just throwing them on at this stage. I'll try not to mess up anyone's ornaments, but just be aware that I may have to scale some things. If you have a smallish pixel art ornament that looks really bad when it's resized then I'll try not to resize it at all, but most of these were pretty big on the tree so I had to do a little resizing. Just letting you guys know in case you notice that your ornament is slightly different.

We just got a lot more ornaments from some users on the Discord. Keep in mind that placement isn't final. I'm trying to not resize too much because of how it effects the quality of the art, but the tree file is not that big, so I have to resize a bit. From now on we can focus on smaller ornaments and on presents to put under the tree.

Thanks, everyone! I realized I forgot to say it on the forums, but I was out of town over Christmas, so I wasn't able to get the tree done on time. Now I've added all remaining ornaments to the tree, so it's complete!

I know I'm a bit late, but I'd like to say: That's an awesome tree! I'm glad that the holiday tree event got brought back, and I'm especially so glad that you posted the tree in this forum for all of us non-Discord users and lurkers to appreciate! I especially like the Super Mario RPG ornaments! Though, in the next holiday tree, I hope people learn to not make their ornaments too big so they don't have to be downsized (which lowers the quality a bit).
