He had his own website and I was a "staff member" although I don't remember actually contributing much to his website, besides an Easter post one time. We would have group AIM chats and he would talk about MFGG. He was a penguin in a military costume. A general, possibly. He liked Cheap Trick, and was very Japanese. Japanese? Jinpen is Korean. I went to school with him, but I actually met him on MFGG before I met him in person. I was introduced to MFGG by someone else who eventually became a mod. I have been coming here since around 2007. I guess my account info didn't carry over since it says I registered 2022. I used to come here all the time, but stopped around 2012 or something like that because things got busy. I never created any game content, I pretty much just stayed in the PPP/CCC.

@glacko2021 We moved to a new version of the forum software back in November 2017 - we switched from phpBB to MyBB. This meant that you had to re-register.
Course clear! You got a card.

I discovered MFGG months prior joining in 2007 as Darkyoshi, this site sparked my interest on developing a fangame (which I failed miserabily many times ^^) and then started developing my own series of open-source frameworks.
And now I am here in 2026 running the main site as administrator ^^

I first found Sonic Fan Games HQ back in 2005 or so, I started looking at Game Maker, and at some point I found MFGG, at some point also in 2005, I honestly don't remember when, but I found making a Mario fangame to be much more approachable than making a Sonic fangame.
The power of teamwork will eventually pull us through
I discovered MFGG long ago. However, I joined in 2023 when I was preparing my Mario fangame for SAGE 2023. Before that, I mostly used to get sprites for my Mario fangame. I initially thought of joining back in 2020, but I had to prioritize my board exams 😔. Ig, I missed all the fun that happened before I joined.

I was making Mario fangames on deviantArt of all places. I don't remember where I got the sprites, but I met Jinpen through dA and he suggested I post on MFGG to see if my projects would find an audience. Over the years I built up a reputation with the staff and memberbase (for better or worse, but I'm not going to get into that here), and eventually was able to serve the forums and the main site as both a mod and an admin. Sometime in the late aughts I walked away from administrative duties (I didn't even announce it to the mods, admins, or community) for personal reasons. I lurked the site and forums for years since then until that big MFGG reunion happened a few years back and I made this account.
