@Nessa I don't speak for Spritey, but from what I'm seeing it seems he does support the idea of treating fat people as people, he just doesn't think they should be treated more sensitively. It seems you and Spritey have different ideas as to what "fat acceptance" should mean. As for him not being able to tell people the movement they support is pointless, that's not really true. He has the right to tell you the movement you support is pointless, and you have the right to tell him it's not. I think that could lead to interesting conversation if things are kept civil.

Edit: Whoops, I started writing this before Spritey replied which is why it looks like I'm repeating what he just said.

For the record the movement isn't pointless, it's essential. Unfortunately movements like this always get taken over by people who are just latching on for convenience.

When it comes to the topic at hand, I just have a hard time believing a fat character who likes cake is problematic. Everyone likes cake. Some people eat too much of it and become fat. That's not objectively offensive; it's a realistic backstory

I mean why not go both ways? Put the Fat Guy in your game, but also have a Skinny Guy who is a vegan and wants to make it illegal to buy 2 airplane seats. Everyone should be able to laugh at themselves

I don't know, I suppose it's fine to use him.

I'm a bit overweight, admittedly, but I never saw it as a big part of who I was, tbh. Tryin' to fix that issue, but that's for an entirely different topic, I suppose.
