WIP Mario and The Return of Wart [CANCELED]

[Evil Yoshi Toes]

That's a nice sconce. What's that green thing up by the coin counter in the grass screenshot?

A tadpole, they replace dragon coins.

I really like the city level! Just a suggestion: Maybe allow Mario to go into some of the buildings?

I have the Thunder Dragon Statue. Also, I'm not gay

Been about a month since I updated this thread, whoops. Anywho, I'm in a bit of a need for someone who is graphically capable. If you wanna help out shoot me a DM on Discord(you can find me in the MFGG Discord)

Sad to say it but Mario and The Return of Wart is being canned.
The working files got corrupted and all my backups are far too old.

Remember to keep constant backups folks! Then this wont happen.

Sorry to hear this
It was a promising hack, but on the positive side this will give you an opportunity to start a new one with all the knowledge you've gained working on Return of Wart from the get-go.

[leanycat]

awe, i'm sorry for your file loss
good luck on your next projects tho!

[VinnyVideo]

Sorry to hear about that. It's always a bummer when a promising project succumbs to file loss/corruption.

Course clear! You got a card.

Nooooo that sucks

It had a really neat concept.

Beware the mighty Wariphant.

[OddieTheRock]

It would've been a pretty great hack. I even made a few enemies for it. Now I wished I asked you for a backup, Yoshin.

This is why you must consistently make backups, people. Like you can make backups both online (e.g Google Drive) and on a hard drive or a usb, for maximum safety.

List of projects I eventually plan to finish after the indefinite hiatus is over, assuming I don't abruptly cancel them:

Spoiler

Mario's Rather Unusual Trilogy (Mario's slightly unusual Boss Rush (Original release completed, Godot port underway), Mario vs. Some Unusual Foes (On hold), Mario's VERY Unusual Final Frontier (On hold))
Sonic's Foray into Random/Unusual Zones (spin-off of Unusual Trilogy, on hold)
Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition (On hold)
Super Hilda DX (Development underway)

I am aware that all of this is very ambitious, for now I'm only working on two of these at infrequent intervals.

+ List of projects I'm helping out with in some small capacity during my hiatus:

Spoiler

Super Mario Bros Dimensions 2 (as a spriter, only for Mario's sprites)
MFGG Community Fangame Project 3 (as a spriter)
WordGirl ReWired (as a artist)
