It's the third I've ever seen so it's always exciting.

The first time I found one, I was doing some weeding and stuck my arm in some tall weeds. When I pulled it out, there was a big mantis just chillin' on my arm.

On a vaguely related note, Techokami and I used to talk about his dad's photography and one of the more interesting stories was about his dad trying to photograph a luna moth. He's never been able to spot one, but then Techo himself stumbled upon one and his dad was red as a tomato over it.

Jumpstart to a few years later when I first start my job at my current place and I found a luna moth just casually sitting on the 5th floor break room window. Cue red dad again.

I've seen a lot, but thankfully none in my backyard.. I wanted to place mantis eggs... but I want to keep the hummingbirds too 😭
