I just played Bubsy for the first time via Nintendo Switch Online. All I can say is just … wow. It is certainly one of the games of all time. Nearly everything made me say "what?" in the first few minutes. Sure, you got the usual camera and control issues, but there's much more. Why did that gumball machine just kill me? Why is ok to go into the first pipe, but not the others? Why are the treetops bouncy? Why is the middle part of the treetops not bouncy? Why did the screen turn upside down for a second? Why did Bubsy become a silhouette? Why is there fall damage? Why did I get shot out of a mountain, roll down it, and tumble right into an enemy?
When you start the level you hear a voice clip of Bubsy saying "What could possibly go wrong?". Pretty much everything. Up until know I thought the internet was just exaggerating for comedic effect.
Anyways, who's looking forward to the new 4D game?
