The only anime I watch is Dragonball Super. I don't really like it and only watch it to catch up with friends. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's weird and lame. I watched Castlevania, and that was decent. It was short, and an American anime. Anyway, what anime do you all like? I really want to find one I don't find unappealing but that may be tough. Suggestions, comments, critiques?

I've never gotten into anime, although I like some of the anime music I've heard. A lot of anime doesn't appeal to me, although if I looked hard enough, I'd probably find something I liked.

I am not really an anime fan. I personally don't care for the art style, which tends to turn me off from most of them. I'm sure if I sat down and really got into an anime's storyline I'd continue it. That'd take forcing myself to see past the visuals, which is hard for me not only with anime. I could never bring myself to watch shows like Bigmouth simply due to the visuals (though Bigmouth is admittedly far uglier than most anime I've seen).
Naruto is one anime I have tried to watch, but I lost interest after the first half of the first episode. If Ponyo counts as an anime I like that, as well Totoro and that one where the little girl's parents become pigs. I'm not sure if it has to be a series rather than a standalone movie in order to warrant the anime label.

i think the only anime i've watched recently is jojo's bizarre adventure, but other than that? yeah, i like it.

i tend to go for fanservicey anime because i'm that kind of a loser, but the majority of the anime i've watched has been rather old. to wit, my favorite series is you're under arrest, and i think that dates back to the 90s. if nothing else, it helps me score brownie points with one of my coworkers, a japanese man who's in his late forties and remembers when urusei yatsura and jojo were first coming out in his home country. haha

I'm also not terribly into it, though I used to be! After finding out about Dragon Ball Z (right around the time Future Trunks showed up, too, and nobody can convince me the whole Android Saga is not the best Saga because it is), I was hooked into it, and tried learning how to draw in that art style (though not very well - I was still in the third grade at the time). So I would also watch Pokemon (though I had no idea it was an anime at the time), Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece (that dreadful 4Kids dub), Naruto...

After a while I kind of became disillusioned with it. The anime boom meant the anime art style was how a lot of people online drew, and eventually I realized that just using a "how to draw anime" book meant I was creating cookie-cutter anime art along with so many others. Along with starting to find the shows I used to like kinda dull, and the quality and style of animation drastically changing (I'm much more fond of older anime art, before CGI models took ahold), and generally finding the kinds of stories not interesting, I stopped watching anime in general. I still like Dragon Ball Z and have the whole collection in both comic and cartoon form (even if I have the "butchered" Orange Boxes), but I just can't get into Super at all - I think Battle of Gods was a great movie and a great way to "end" the series, honestly, anything after just feels superfluous.

(It probably helps that aside from like, a couple shots, most of the movie is traditionally animated or at least doesn't use 3D models, including the entire fight sequence after Goku drops out of God-form, and looks incredible whereas Resurrection F afterwards used a LOT of CGI and has a pretty disappointing-looking final fight as a result.)

A lot of my friends back in Seattle were really into anime though and would often have conversations about it, which meant I got left out of a lot of conversations. They did sit me down to watch Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind once, which I did, since they were nice enough to watch The Lost Room for me. Unfortunately I found Nausicaa kinda dull. Such is life, I guess.
Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

This fight has only just begun...

I'm not too into anime, but I do watch it every now and then.
I don't know what genre you prefer, but I liked Erased (one of the few anime I've watched that don't star a protagonist who's in high school).
I also enjoyed Assassination Classroom, but I don't know what kind of anime you would like, so it's harder to suggest one to you.

I don't watch anime, except recently: the Super Mario World Anime (which I'm making a fandub of) and Castlevania. I really liked Castlevania even though I never played any of the Castlevania games and can't wait for a second season. The Mario one is made for kids and has a bit of filler. However, I did find it enjoyable to some level.

Yeah, I might be someone that keeps up with Dragon Ball Super only on account of the recent fight with Goku fighting a buff grey alien. Even though I'm not cultured on anime, I think it's a really cool character design, at least coming from an outsider's perspective. That's the only thing that keeps me watching, because of the anticipation of that fight. (Though I have to agree, it is weird and lame! haha)

One of my favorite animes that I adore is Haruhi Suzumiya, only because... well it's fun. The movie, too (Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) is definitely a must-watch if you are ever into anime cinema. A lot of others agree, too, that it's well-paced and has some very real and heartfelt character emotions that make it a must-watch, in my opinion.

King of the Hill is my favorite anime!
I too am not really into anime. I usually prefer something like: Dragon Ball series, Full Metal Alchemist, and One Punch Man. The only obscure anime I know and watch was Cyborg 009.

My type of TV entertainment is usually down to earth like King of the Hill. Family Guy and other similar sitcoms are just absurd nowadays.

mfw its time to talk about anime.

I'm pretty much all about the Japanimation! Give me a genre and I can probably give you some good recommendations.

Cute comedies like Toradora, Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and Nichijou are the classics.

If you really want a good mind bending adventure, look up Paprika or The Girl who Leapt Through Time.

Baka and Test is my favorite comedy that I've watched so far. You can find it subbed or dubbed on YouTube.
Have You Heard, I'm Sakamoto? is also a nice comedy.

Erased (which I recommended in my previous post), Black☆Rock Shooter, and Stein's Gate are all a good "mind bending experience."

I watch quote a bit of anime still, but not as much as several years ago.

For comedies I recommend Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Gabriel Dropout and D-frag

For mind pending stuff: Flowers of Evil (Aku no Hana), Humanity has Declined (Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita) and Flip Flappers (latter two are more trippy than mind pending, but whatever)

I watched Sonic X season 1 & 2 in 2016/2017
I tried to watch season 3 but i was too lazy to do so.
List of projects I eventually plan to finish after the indefinite hiatus is over, assuming I don't abruptly cancel them:
[+]Spoiler
Mario's Rather Unusual Trilogy (Mario's slightly unusual Boss Rush (Completed), Mario vs. Some Unusual Foes (In development), Mario's VERY Unusual Final Frontier (In development))
Sonic's Foray into Random/Unusual Zones (spin-off of Unusual Trilogy, in development)
Angry Birds Slingshot Frenzy (In development)
Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition (In development)
Super Hilda DX (In only conceptual phase)

Yes, I am aware that I have about 6 or so fangame projects currently in development at the same time. And yes, I am also aware that all of this is very ambitious.
+ List of projects I'm helping out with in some small capacity during my hiatus:
[+]Spoiler
Super Mario Bros Dimensions 2 (as a spriter, only for Mario's sprites)
MFGG Community Fangame Project 3 (as a spriter)
WordGirl ReWired (as a artist)

I don'r know anything about Japanimation, myself. I had a friend who watched that stuff and oh god so many times it was super dramatic. I'm not really into that at all. I also don't like how so many characters just have the same face to the point where sometimes I confuse anime guys for anime girls.

But that's just what I think.

(Also I don't think I have ever seen an anime guy who doesn't have messy hair, for some inexplicable reason. Why is that?).

Probably for the same reason that anime characters tend to have unusual hair colors (since I haven't seen a lot of real-life humans who naturally have blue hair).

There are other people who are far better-equipped at explaining the evolution of anime art styles than I am, though.
