Myte Draws (You)

I'll be honest, I haven't really wanted to do much with these characters. Someone already redrew them to give them a better style (I believe it was HansAgain, but I don't know for sure), but I never really followed that and I kept with the old style.

What I'm trying to say is, these are two characters I made back in 2011-2012, named Cloud Puff (on the left) and Thunder Bolt (on the right). I didn't have any intention for them except to represent myself on an old website called Scratch. The image above is their old designs, but I honestly don't know what else to do with them to improve said designs (Aside from some minor changes that didn't really effect them much). I'm sorry if I sound needy, but I'd really like an artist to help me out with this roadblock. All I'd like out of them is to give them a turn in the spotlight, if that makes any sense, as I've kept them on the back shelf for quite some time. I just want to give them a fresh coat of paint, but I don't know what paint to choose and how to paint them.
