I, for one, actually like the MFGG Discord--in principle, at least. Often, using a forum to tell people about something you're working on, whether it be a game or artwork, requires a bit of confidence, because most people won't go out of their way to respond/give you critiques on your work on a forum. Instead, they'll just give you a 1-Up or something of that nature. To me, the Discord definitely has a useful purpose. It can be a great place for people with a similar interest--game-dev--to share what they're working on and get immediate feedback from someone who's online. The real-time nature of Discord has a lot of upsides specifically for this community, and if wielded well, our server has tons of potential.
Right now, it certainly has it's fair share of problems. But I'm strongly optimistic about the good Discord can do.
