brother, i was there. that was back when we were all using clickteam tools, and i kind of miss that. this was also back when myself and a few others were pumping out libraries for said tools. there'd always be the screen at the start which said "will you give (insert library maker's name here) credit?" if you clicked yes, it'd let you go on, and if you clicked no, it'd play a humorous little animation where the guy on screen who represented the user would get blown up, shot, or whatever else.

i forget if it came out in 2001 or 2002, but there was a mario fangame called mario left the cheese out from this era which featured a lot of mfggers as bosses. supertoad2k, thunder dragon, nite, and so on.
