Here's a major update on what's happening with the Discord:

After much staff discussion, we have come to the decision that space junk galaxy is not a good fit for our Discord server. As of Monday, October 22nd, this channel will be archived and replaced with a #media-share channel. The media-share channel will be the place to post music, videos and more that you'd like to share.

Space Junk Galaxy never had a clear focus. Often times it would be either a dumping ground for terrible memes and others it'd be used as a third general channel. The quality of sjg is so low that multiple staff members mute and hide it, and this isn't what we wanted from the channel. We didn't want it to just be the shitpost containment channel.

Space Junk Galaxy, we feel, works much better on the slower paced forum and that's where it will remain.

However, this also means we will be stricter on spam including memes. If the meme is not relevant to the discussion in a channel or not used as a way to start one, then it's not allowed. If you and others are flooding the room with emoji, that's not allowed. We will try to give you a clear definition of spam as soon as we can but for now please use your common sense.
