I'd like to have more control over the aesthetics of the courses. More decorations would be cool, and a way to change the weather and geographical location (judging by the trailer it looks like we will be able to do this).
I think it'd be cool if we got an SMB2 theme with the unique gameplay elements and the four playable characters. It'd be cool if the multiple characters also carried over to other themes with their unique stats carrying over too, which would make sense since we are getting a 3D world theme. This could create more variety in level design since we can design levels that take advantage of the attributes of the playable character.
I also really want to be able to create our own worlds instead of just individual levels. It'd be really fun to play through people's little storylines they create and see how their levels tie together.
