I only care about playing this game (when I finally get the chance to install it on my phone) to get the Mario females on my roster (Peach, Daisy, Toadette). But it's really sad that the "majority" apparently don't really care about this game itself anymore.

Yeah, and I actually suspect that one single design flaw plus the very little replay value for the game is what ultimately killed it early on, which may lead to Nintendo stepping away from Mario on mobile in the future if money were purely a concern.

This game could've had a lot a playability and had a lot of potential to be something great, Incredible or even Perfect Even(!), but at best this is where Nintendo's present-poor design apparently finally shines through, and becomes blatantly obvious. Although I am derailing for a moment here; seriously, Nintendo needs to Become Great Again.

We could've gotten a lot of great content and we fandevs wouldn't have been having to fill in the holes Nintendo had left behind, but thanks to their decision to stay "simple" (apparently gameplay-/plot- and progression-wise) after those as Mario Sunshine and Super Princess Peach, this is also why I don't enjoy Mario as much anymore - don't get me wrong, I'd certainly love to play much much more Mario content, but it's become so lackluster and uninnovative (and underutilized even so) that it's understandable why Mario's popularity had quite degraded over the years. Honestly, I think the studios who do rate these games high are only just used to getting the current content that Nintendo gives them that they're used to, and that even though a game might have universal acclaim initially, over the long run it won't quite be favorable as those others as on Xbox and PlayStation - basically their popularity strength being strong initially, but then rapidly dropping off into being only "Generally Favorable". What a shame.


P.S. Also, it's worth noting that although Mario Odyssey's score had tied with Galaxy's, it's only tied, not higher, and even then there have been some considerably negative reception to this later title even when compared to Galaxy, especially personally (in my thoughts) to an extent with the Dinosaurs and Marriage Rejection, both being of the Super Mario Bros. Animation Movie and Live-Action feature, which just resonated weirdly with me personally in a (very) negative way in those and all other regards like it. Kinda shameful, ain't it.
