Honestly I don't think warns should be public but MFGG treats warnings a some kind of score system which is weird. A warning is an attempt to work w/ a member to resolve issues. An exception to warns being public should be if an issue is clearly something that needs to be addressed as a community- in which case yeah I'd put that in the news topic and not really try and call out anyone specific.
Do staff get upset when people respond to warns and try and work them out? Actually I think the warn system is kinda automated and you don't really have an avenue of contact with the staff iirc- that should be fixed.
Bans absolutely should be public though as they affect the entire community.
