It only took me 15 years!
PM:TTYD boasts a charming graphical style, excellent writing and characterizations, and a lot of really fun gameplay ideas. The game isn't quite perfect, but it's definitely Mario (and video games in general) at its best. Chapter 3 is especially memorable.
If you've gone this long without playing it, go play it! It'll make any pandemic a lot more fun.
