Super Mario Bros. & The Midas Machine

May as well nip this in the bud now (thank you Vinny for reminding me to do this), but until further notice, Midas Machine is sadly canceled. Without anyone to finish programming, there isn't much I can do, and I don't want to leave people hanging onto the hopes that it'll one day pop back up, so yeah, I apologize as this is the last thing I wanted to have happen, but I'm afraid that it's out of my hands. Part of the issue that the level editor we were using no longer exists, so theres no way for people to work with the levels currently, and the engine for whatever reason no longer seems to work on my laptop, like, I can't even get the game to rum anymore.

I was going to write up a full script of all the levels and a description with pictures, but my hand slipped and I accidently closed the window after 6 hours of typing, and I really can't bring myself to type it up again, sorry. That said I'll at least give a quick summary of what was planned plot wise.

Remember the face you see at the end of world 1? It's Midas, but not King Midas, you find out it's actually Queen Midas. Theres some hidden journals you can find that reveal that long ago, a viking gave the king and queen of a kingdom a glove that would help them make their kingdom prosper. The viking said he did this in good will, but really planned on letting greed consume the queen and then, once the whole kingdom was gold, he'd come in and steal it back along with all the gold. It turns out she had become too strong and turned pretty much everyone in the kingdom into gold, and then turned the viking into gold as well. Ultimately the King destroyed the gauntlet, but the queen had become one with it, causing her to become trapped inside of it. When Bowser and Syrup finish the glove, they release Queen Midas. who plans on flooding the world is greed that will cause people to basically go mad.

This is a general mockup of, well, not the final boss, but it's like the third from last final boss, it's Midas when she emerges from the hand, just before she takes her human form

Anyways, if anyone has any general questions, ask away, that aside, I'll try and submit some of the sheets at some point. That said, if Mors still wants to work on this, I'm willing to chip in in any way I can, but yeah, I'm sorry for breaking this news, if I could have had it finished, please know that I would have.
