I'm about to take a look through your engine, because depending how it looks to me, I might say you're gonna want to have me write programming above all else. Having briefly checked out your list of characters, I can tell ya this will be a complex engine. If it were a straight Mario platformer, that's super easy because it's basically Metroid without the weapons. When you have multiple players, you need multiple sets of variables and controls for each player. I will expand on this more as we go. If your budget is $50, I wanna be able to get you the most for your money, which means I'm gonna give you a recommended list of things I think you're gonna want my knowledge of.
I have a proposition that I think would benefit us both:
$50 bucks we'll try to get your main, main character basic sprites, and I wanna get your engine up and running a bit, so I can comment and explain what I did and how to build off of this. I'd like to be able to teach you, as well as your cousin, if he's involved with this, because not only will you become more self capable, but I can then have you guys collaborate with me on my game, Metroid Prime 2D: The Tallon IV Project, in exchange for collaborations on yours beyond the $50 mark, because I understand how that goes. Plus with sprites too, you always have the option of saying "Hey I got five ten bucks can you do some sprites" I'm not greedy at all, if I got the time, I'm making a Lil something, I'm happy with $50. Only other thing I ask, is that I'd be able to use you as a reference to say yes I paid Tobi/Layne (my Youtube) for some work and he was really great or whatever your honest opinion is, because I'd love to pick up more side gigs like this!

Alright. You teach/help me, and I help you. That seems like a fair deal. And my cousin is just going to be a playable character in and major part of my project. He won't be coding. Can you also do some enemies & bosses? I could use some help with those, too.
