Agreed 100%. Call me old if you'd like, but I can't see discord or any chat as a replacement for forums. I recently rejoined the MFGG Discord, and it was cool for the moment, but I haven't done anything in there since I talked for the first 5 minutes. Good for instant gratification, but hell if I try to talk about anything from yesterday. Hell if I try to talk about anything from 2 hours ago.
I think they tried to mitigate this via the quoting feature, but then it starts to become a horrible mess of multiple conversations going on at once and trying to determine who's part of what conversation, or even where YOU are.
Plus, visibility on anything you want to announce or speak out is reduced to whoever happens to be there at the time.
