Progress is happening! I've updated most of the World 9 levels - I only have three more to go before the whole world is at least playable. Most of these levels didn't have major issues - a lot of the time it was just a matter of proofreading the E. Gadd text or updating the music.
The final regular level of World 9 is a bit more complex. On the other hand, it has a clever gimmick that I think you're really going to enjoy.
I've also been working on squashing bugs - it was inevitable that we were going to find some! Thanks Lyra, Nite, and Gate for finding some bugs to squish:
If anyone gets stuck on the map, I can share a patched version of the game.
Also, as @fireball3k mentioned, it's helpful for me to know which controller setups are working - or not working. I've gotten pretty good results using my old GameCube controller on a Mayflash adapter. The only problem is the game tends to lag if the controller isn't plugged in - this seems to be a frequent issue with GM 8 games after you install the driver for this controller adapter.

I've also been working on squashing bugs - it was inevitable that we were going to find some! Thanks Lyra, Nite, and Gate for finding some bugs to squish:
- Bloom Path (1-1) was missing a block near the beginning of the level, making it possible to slide right through a pipe
- Explosive Cargo had a random invisible vine that shouldn't have been there
- The boss of Show Time! would sometimes turn into the World 3 boss and crash your game
- The World 3 map had a bug where you could get stuck and become unable to leave the world if you followed a very specific pathway
- The World 6 map had another bug where you could skip a level you weren't supposed to skip, potentially causing you to become unable to backtrack
