I've actually been able to play a Virtual Boy in person, but I've never owned one. There used to be this arcade show that came to my area that had a Virtual Boy as one of the systems you could try playing on. One of the events they did was a Street Fighter 2 for Virtual Boy competition one year. That was a good game. SF2 on VB.
The Virtual Boy was a fun experience. Everyone used to talk about how it'd give you eye strain, but I played it for a while and never got any. It has one of my favorite controllers for any Nintendo console, with those two d-pads and the handles that feel something like the ones on a GameCube's controllers. I hope they make a VB controller that works with Switch 2, because I'd buy one. Hell, I'd love to get the full-size goggles they make that you put your Switch into to play it because it'd be a hell of a lot more economical than me spending $500 to get a real system.
