Semi-Related Fun Fact: When I was 11 years old, I drew a picture of Bowser pouring some sticky maple syrup somewhere in an attempt to slow down the Mario Bros.! I wasn't exactly the world's greatest artist then (I'm still not), but I tried.
I'd say the Midas Machine stickum is closer to what DKC2 has. Your idea is a fun twist on this concept though!
