DONE My gripes with the dang site

Hi. Old member here, "Doc," "DoctorOctagonapus," etc. Vinny told me to make a thread about this stuff, even though I don't really go on this website anymore. I'm a Game/Web D and I think a few of the things I noticed are pretty valid, and I thought I would give my two cents. Most, if not all of these are visual flaws/corrections. From what I've seen the site still functions the same way, and still has the basic phpBB/zeta framework layout that it's had for years.

1) Inconsistent padding and margin

Some of the spacing between areas of text and borders are a little odd, and I think a lot of it has to do with custom CSS sizing and restrictions. I understand that the theme of the site has a much more material/flat design and that buttons and text spaces are a lot more digitally ergonomic, but sometimes it messes with the spacing of other list items or divs that are in the same vicinity.








2) Overflow and media query

The mobile/intelligent design is pretty ok/standard, but there are a few things that I guess got swept under the rug when programming its functionality. Overflow is pretty much straight up ignored or is incorrectly formatted around images at some parts, and usually has to do with resolutions that are right below some of the query width limits. (also, no media viewport meta tag? Super easy, and super handy for changing CSS for mobile screen resolutions and different browsers. Here's a pretty good explanation.)








3) "Handy" things that are actually kind of bothersome

These may be nitpicking, but I just found these a hassle to work around, even though they seemed to be there to add to the experience. The green arrows really seem to be there for no reason. An up arrow for "top of the page" may be handy sometimes, but is positioned in a pretty ugly area and is pretty overlooked most of the time due to using a touch screen or scroll wheel (scroll bar as well).








That's about it. I may update with new stuff if I find it while navigating. This stuff was just pretty evident.
