@Ostrich101 Don't worry. Many years ago (mostly before I was active on the forums), there were some times when people got a little too flirtatious with girls, especially those who had just joined. Most of it was innocuous, but there were definitely some comments in certain topics that crossed the line. In the post-Split era, I've never received a report of anyone being sexually harassed, but if anyone is saying things that make you uncomfortable, be sure to speak up - contact an admin or hit the report button.
@Ostrich101 It's been a while since I've seen the old "girls don't use the Internet" meme that Ugandan Knuckles referenced. Some social networks are actually majority female (like Facebook and Pinterest), although communities related to gaming, especially game development, tend to be predominantly male. In the past few years, there's been more of a push to encourage girls to consider fields that require a knowledge of computer programming, so this might change in the future. After all, game development is one of the best and most accessible ways to get started with programming.
