The GBA's heyday lasted only about four years, but during that time, the GBA got a pretty awesome library of games. Plus, it's nice that you can usually get GBA games without breaking the bank.

Yeah GBA seems underrated. Zero Mission and Minish Cap are great entries.

It's pretty remarkable just how many great games were made in that short period of time.

As far as mainline franchises go, those were very good entries. The thing that the GBA also did very effectively was introduce japanese-only franchises to the west. The Wars series and the Fire Emblem series in particular were really excellent on the GBA. If I had to choose to only have the games from a single developer, it would probably be Intelligent Systems, which makes both series (as well as Mario Kart: Super Circuit and WarioWare Twisted).

@Xander I haven't played the Fire Emblem games, so it might not be fair to say, but the GBA-era Fire Emblems are my favorites. I should probably try the Advance Wars games sometime, since they have a lot in common with FE.

Looks fantastic. I saw you had Metroid II in there- how did you get the Game Boy cartridge in one of those cases?

Thanks!

As for GB games, I have a couple of these, that I got from a friend. I may end up buying a batch:

The GBA Kirby games were some of my favorites. I think I'm glad that your Amazing Mirror slipcover is the Happy Japanese Kirby instead of the Grumpy Edgy North American Kirby!

I have yet to play them! I just got my copy of Amazing mirror and have yet to grab a copy of Nightmare in Dream Land, but plan to sometime this year. Yeah, the Japanese and European boxart design is much more indicative of the 4-Kirby gameplay. Smile

Can't wait to give them a try!

Pokemon games, 2 of them anyway. These have been a long time coming. Not sure why I've been avoiding them for so long, but I think they turned out reasonably well. Smile

The FireRed/LeafGreen slipvcovers are pretty cool. They look quite a bit better than the real thing.

Thanks Vinny!

I intend to do the same treatment with Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald using the colour-corresponding starter pokemon as well. Smile
