How does this game compare to the robot planet one? I'm thinking of finally getting a kirby game, but I've heard very mixed opinions on this one. Is it significantly worse than the robot game, or are they pretty even? Co-op is definitely a huge plus with this game, but if it's a lot worse than the robot game I'd probably just get that one.

I'd say it's pretty solid but maybe not quite as good as Robobot.

ANYWAY, my thoughts! I played the majority of the game with my sister, so I got to experience the co-op aspect of the game fairly extensively. I'm very happy to see helpers back, especially the ones included in the update. Rick is SO CUTE in this, dude. Like, it's unreal.

Level design was fine but I definitely got the feeling it was more underdeveloped than Robobot. The game also wasn't very long, unfortunately. I'm starting to get the feeling that Nintendo is beginning to struggle with making games in their usual scope with the increasing graphical standards. Then again, Breath of the Wild was massive and looked gorgeous so who knows.

Graphically, it's gorgeous. It looks awesome. Shame it had to come at the expense of 60fps, though.

As many have stated, a lot of the bosses are pretty easy, probably due to the sheer amount of damage Kirby + 3 helpers are constantly dealing out. The final boss is not excluded, unfortunately, but I haven't beaten Soul Melter yet, so I could be in for a rude awakening there.

Speaking of the bosses, what the heck was up with Void Termina and Morpho Knight? The former takes on the appearance of Kirby and then later Dark Matter. What are the implications of that???? The latter is just as confusing. Is this a totally different knight or just another form of Galacta? Though, I gotta admit, both the fakeout intro and the fact that he's Meta Knight's beta design were pretty awesome.

Bosses were a little weak compared to the last few games except the final one but my favorite fight in the game would probably have to be the Hyness fight since I found the music to be pretty catchy and just simply amazing, and was also one of the only bosses that actually almost killed me (woah, in a kIrBy gAmE); next to the Soul Melter boss. Also, that reveal of his face after the first phase was the cherry on top. So I bet the other hungry fans are eating up the lore on this one as we speak.

Gee, I do love my Kirb games

Dustin's feelings on this game are the same as mine. It's better if you look at it this way: Star Allies is to Return to Dream Land as Planet Robobot is to Triple Deluxe.

I think the struggle is more on HAL's side rather than Nintendo's. Given that their only HD console game prior to this was Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, they probably don't have a lot of that kind of experience under their belt.

How big is this game compared to triple deluxe? That's the only recent Kirby game I've played. It was fun. I would like to try Planet Robobot one day too though.

I'd say it's shorter than triple deluxe. Regardless it's still quite great and is basically a homage to all the previous Kirby games.

So my cousin is playing this game right now, and maybe I got some challenges just for you. I've posted that before, but oh well. If the game is too short, then you must do these challenges (SPOILER WARNING)
[+]Spoiler
I. Beat Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go with every character. That means you gotta replay this over thirty times, with different helpers for each session. Well, as each update comes, you must beat it some more times with the new characters. (Note: Glitching the game to play as Kirby is not allowed.)
II. Beat Soul Melter without using any abilities or Helpers. (Note: You may wanna kill all your helpers for this challenge.)
III. Try to get first place in all difficulties in sub-games. I know every YouTuber has done this before, but it's your turn to try.
IV. Try to complete all nine pictures.
Speaking of the bosses, let me get them straight. We're gonna be legit game theorists! (SPOILER WARNING)
[+]Spoiler
- So you're asking if Morpho Knight was a completely different knight or not. Being a result of Galacta Knight and a butterfly, it's rather confusing to tell if it's really a different knight or just Galacta Knight in his other form. I see it. When I'm talking about Kirby Star Allies on twitter, I always believe that Morpho Knight is a separate character. But in this game, it's actually Galacta's other form. If that was canon, then Meta Knight will no longer encounter Galacta Knight in his first form anymore.
- Some people were complaining there was no lore in this game. There actually is hidden lore within the flavor texts of the Mage Generals (Francisca, Flamberge, and Zan Partizanne). They were treated in an abusive way by Hyness himself. Even Hyness slapped the heck out of Zan Partizanne when he was going to introduce himself to Kirby (and it spawned a few video memes.) I always liked to theorize Kirby lore, but Planet Robobot's hidden lore (about how President Haltmann became to be) was actually more complex to decode.
- So Void Termina (or [Redacted] in [Redacted])'s core becomes Kirby then Dark Matter. It's kinda weird. I also heard from the Kirby Wiki that Void Termina's sound effects are actually slowed down versions of Kirby's sound effects, in addition to his description suggesting the Dark Matter family could have emerged from such demon. If Kirby was the one holding the ability to make new Helpers, maybe Void Termina could also have the corrupted effects of creating a helper (a corrupted version of Friend Heart's powers), because his shockwaves can cause Kirby's helpers to turn against him. So yeah, basically, my theory could be that Void Termina had the powers of Dark Matter and a corrupted Friend Heart/Jamba Heart. Correct me if I'm wrong.
