For my next big art project, one that I'll actually complete, I'm creating a map for a good friend of mine for his role-playing Discord server. Rather than have him hand-draw it and take time out of his already-busy schedule, he said I could make it in the style of either SMB3 or SMW.

I jumped on that opportunity instantly.
Granted, though, I'm using my own graphical style for it, so it's not fully SMW. The design is there, but it just looks different.

Here's the map so far. Area names and labeling will be posted when complete.

("In-Character" Introduction)

The Mario Bros. are relaxing at home, chatting over the pummeling of Bowser and the rescue of Peach, and the Mushroom Kingdom.
Luigi: So, Mario, do you have any-a plans now that Bowser's been-a defeated?
Mario shakes his head. He's unsure what to do now.
There's a call outside. Parakarry was delivering the mail again. The Bros. get out of their seats, then walk out the front door.
Luigi checks the mail. There's a letter with a green stamp on it.
Luigi: Hmm... I wonder who this is-a from?
They head back inside, and Luigi opens the letter. It's from someone they don't know, yet the sender knows of the Bros. Luigi begins reading.

Letter: Hello there! My name is Kade Berry, and I wanted to inform you of my soon visit to Toad Town. I've heard many great things about it, such as the various shops, the mysterious fortune-teller, and even the nearby Peach's Castle! I am a former worker of Bowser, but don't worry, I mean no harm. My appearance as a Shy Guy may also startle some people, though I remain unchanged as one. With that, be on the lookout for a taller Shy Guy with a dark green robe.
I have sent a letter to Peach and her staff, too, to let her know of my presentation. I hope to use this opportunity to turn my time around and forget about the "upfront" ruling Bowser had in my past. I wish to see you soon!

Luigi: Hmm... I'm not sure I-a fully trust this letter, but maybe we should go talk-a to Peach about it.
Mario nods, and the two exit the house once more.

The map I mentioned in the previous post will be on hold for some time. I've now got something else I'm working on on my own, but aside from that, there's one thing I'd like to showcase.

Kade Berry, my Shy Guy "OC", in the style of Paper Mario (64).
Still a work-in-progress.



I hope to make most, if not all, of Mario's poses with this. I'm also going to add battle animations from the Shy Guy family of PM64, just for some extra flair.
