a boy is forcefully separated from his two childhood best friends as his island home is destroyed, but quickly gains two new ones as he is thrusted into a journey spanning worlds that he had no idea even existed. along the way, he gains access to a mythical weapon- one of the last of it's kind, and uses it to vanquish mysterious creatures from the dark that plague the many worlds he and his new friends visit. eventually, he reunites with his island friends but under grim circumstances, as one of them has fallen to the dark influence responsible for bringing about the destruction of worlds with the dark creatures the boy has fought, and the other has fallen unconscious. ultimately, the boy's courage and friendship overpowers the evil which has brought about the entities of dark, and using the strength his island friends summon, shuts him away and destroys him with light. in the end, the boy and his new friends embark on another journey...
