[Engine] Gatete Mario Engine 9

Gatete Mario Engine 9 is a feature packed Mario framework for GameMaker Studio 2 that
includes features from various Mario games.

Mario and Luigi as playable characters
Moves from the 3D Mario games
Star Coins
Switch Palaces
Fully customizable World Map
Customizable keyboard controls
Gamepad support
Custom audio engine with support for external music and loop points
30 different powerups (Including Tiny Mushroom, Mega Mushroom and the Gold Flower from the NSMB series)

I hadn't tried your engine in a while, so I gave it a go.

As usual, there's a great variety of features, and I like the visual style (a nice mix of ripped and custom sprites).

Swimming speed is much too fast.

Also, while most of the engine is very polished, I think you could improve the camera system. In this engine, when Mario jumps, the camera quickly moves vertically to keep Mario in the center of the view. The official Mario games handle this in a different, more elegant way. You might want to watch one of the videos that analyzes how Super Mario World's camera logic works.

I used to have a SMW styled camera on the engine but I ended removing it.

Maybe I could add some lerp functions to the camera itself

Now why exactly did you remove that style of camera movement?

It was causing issues when you slide down a slope

...now I'm starting to wonder if you'd previously pulled off the camera movement with the slopes in mind in Mario Worlds Delta..

If you did, couldn't you just port over the camera from that into here?
