I finally beat this game a few days ago! It was one of the 3DS games I'd been wanting to play most. It's a 2017 remake of the Japanese-only Fire Emblem Gaiden from 1992, the second Fire Emblem game. Gaiden was not the most well-loved game in the series, although I thought Gaiden's story, challenging maps, unique weaponry/magic system, and SMB3-style world map made for an interesting experience when I beat Gaiden in 2015. SoV goes well beyond giving Gaiden an official translation and a fresh coat of paint graphically - I enjoyed SoV's new features, the much better-explained story, and the splendid soundtrack.

Fun Fact: The word "Valentia" does not appear a single time on the current MFGG forums, the phpBB archive, or either of the MFGG Discords. The more you know.

Big Grin I just got that game last week. So far, ive gotten to act 2. i like the charater dialouge and the combat is way more enjoyable then i thought it would be. Tobin and Gery are my favorites so so far but they both died on the 4th battle. Sad

@Cipower3 Yay - I'm glad you're giving this a go! Yeah, the interactions between characters are a lot of fun, and the full voice acting is icing on the cake (I thought SoV's voice acting was top-notch). The combat is more interesting than you might expect, too!

I like Tobin and Gray, too. By the endgame, Gray was pretty much my strongest character once he became a Dread Fighter. While there is a way to revive fallen characters later in the game, I'd suggest restarting if you've lost two characters. Alm's army will be at a serious disadvantage in Chapter 3 if you're without Tobin and Gray.
Course clear! You got a card.
