I'm sticking with Hello Mario Engine 6.2.1 for more than one reason.

First, an older version was used to create Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.

Second, it has something that others don't have. Bosses. (Okay, Gatete's has Boom Boom, but you know what I mean.)

I've also put a lot of custom content into it. Moving to another engine would be possible, but still a task.

Hello Engine may be outdated, but I love it. You may not love it for multiple reasons, especially a certain new submission to the main site.

It's your game - you should use the engines and tools that you feel most comfortable using. Older Hello Mario Engine games were often criticized as being generic and unimaginative, but we've also seen some interesting games made with premade engines. Either way, we've hardly seen any games made with this engine since 2015.

I can totally understand not wanting to change to a different engine if you've already put a lot of effort into a project. If you keep using this engine, however, I would recommend trying to come up with more original boss ideas. While bosses can be time-consuming to design and program, having interesting bosses can make your game a lot more interesting and memorable - most fangame players won't get excited about seeing a vanilla version of Boom-Boom or the SMB3 Koopalings.
