We should add online multiplayer in Fan-games?

Where you could chat to other players either by text or audio, or do levels with other players and so on.

Online multiplayer is a whole other beast of development that is a different branch of programming than game development. It also is such a huge task to undertake balancing it between cost, effectiveness, and appeal, that you start going into the realm of "I need x people to play this to make it feel worthwhile, but I can only attract that many if I have the money to run servers, which means payment, which means Nintendo will look at this." It'd be cool, but wholly unfeasible.

Online multiplayer can be a lot of fun, but it's difficult to implement successfully. Even AAA games often struggle to deliver online multiplayer that consistently offers a positive experience.

One recent community project was supposed to include online multiplayer, but the challenge of finding someone to program it was a big reason the project died.
