...but they expire on March 28th. Still, if you've been interested in trying before buying, now might be your chance.

I'll definitely be checking this out.

Also, if you've installed the free trial version on GM Studio 2, this temporary license will be applied automatically - you don't have to do anything to claim it.
Course clear! You got a card.

Are temporary licenses supposed to be limited time only?

Im still definitely not testing this thing. :/

Well that's the point. They aren't gonna hand out free licenses for free, like they did with GM:Studio standard. But the point of a trial is to show you how the program feels, not a free ticket to do whatever you want.

They DO have a trial version without use of the license... and it's pretty unstable because Cap'n Coconuts told me that you cannot be able to do executables, thus preventing any tests on the programming.

@sc00pj0hn With the trial version of GM Studio 2, you can test your program and make sure everything works as intended. You just can't create a stand-alone executable that runs even if you don't have access to GM Studio 2.

Well, right, seems like i've understood. I am linking Cap'n Coconuts' discourse here in this spoiler:

He even said that... the trial has very limiting resources?

The resource limits are explained in this help article: https://help.yoyogames.com/hc/en-us/arti...imitations

The basic limits are the following:
Quote:
  • Objects - 15
  • Sprites - 20 (no dynamic loading permitted, no SWF or Spine sprites permitted)
  • Sounds - 10 (no audio buffers permitted)
  • Tilesets - 2
  • Scripts - 10
  • Paths - 5 (no dynamic path creation permitted)
  • Timelines - 2 (no dynamic timeline creation permitted)
  • Fonts - 5 (no dynamic font creation permitted)
  • Rooms - 5 (no dynamic room creation permitted)
  • Shaders - 0
  • Included files - 0
  • Extensions - 0
  • Configurations - 0

There are other annoying restrictions such as the inability to make executables and the inability to import projects from older versions of Game Maker (including Studio 1.4). As you can see, the free trial version is not suitable for doing much except... well, trying out the software.

When the free licenses expire on March 28, this is what you will be left with.
