WIP A Hammer Brother's Quest For The Five Moons

Well, after my other project shown here was a copy of AgentTer's Mario game, I decided to do something more original. Instead of 16-bit game that has Mario, I decided to be much more original. And I decided on Hammer Bro because there weren't any games that had him as the main character.

So much that it still works, this reminds me of a flash game, where you play as a Bullet Bill and you dodge several obstacles at different speeds.

Hey guys! Sorry that this thread has been inactive! Anyways here are some updates!
Here is a unfinished Cutscene, in it, the Hammer Brother is supposed to break the crack in that plank of wood, as the new plot is of him escaping from being abused by Bowser.

Here's a unfinished falling area, it happens after that Cutscene, it was inspired by Super Mario Pandemonium. (BTW does anybody now the name of that song? And link the midi to me? I would love to use that song!)

My only one issue is the clouds and hammer bro inside the ground is a bit of a perspective issue. It just looks off to me. Good idea.

Edit: The first image sorta reminds me of the intro scene from Sonic Adventure 2.

I think the characters not matching the perspective of the ground perfectly could work (them being at a level profile while the ground is seen at a slight downward tilt, as you have there), but what really makes things confusing to me is the amount of detail in the background that distracts a lot from the characters overlapping it.
