Just a heads up: This thread has videos and screenshots depicting violence and gore
The original RE2, released in 1998, has been a favorite of survival horror fans for years, and since the release of the Resident Evil 1 Remake launched in 2002, fans of the genre and particularly the RE franchise have asked for the second entry in the survival horror franchise to be given similar treatment. Then at last in 2015, Capcom announced the beginning of an official RE2 remake, which would be built from the ground up. After nearly 3 full years of silence, at Sony's E3 press conference this year, we were given our first trailer... Well, more like trailers:
The game runs on the RE Engine, which powered Resident Evil 7, but returns to a third person perspective and over-the-shoulder camera as seen in latter Resident Evil games, but with no tank controls. Though it's a remake, many things have been re-imagined or altered slightly to not only keep the experience fresh and tense, but also to improve the experience as well, such as new (and much improved) voice acting =P
A few gaming news pages such as Gamespot were also given time with a demo of what the game has to offer thus far:
Underneath the spoilers are screenshots:
I'm personally beyond excited for this game. I've waited some 12 or so years for it lol. The footage and screenshots we've been shown so far also have blown my expectations that i began to form when it was announced back in 2015 out of the water.
