If this happened to me, I'd take it to my local retro game store and get them to replace it for me, I know they do it.
I probably wouldn't mess with it myself, but maybe it can be done realistically. Nite Shadow is the guy to ask about that. Vimimin Wrote:Hylian's day job, little did we know, was saying controversial things on the internet. Mors Wrote:you fool!!!! you fixed it wrong!!!! Bibby Team

Replacing the battery is actually pretty easy, but you will need some special tools (an uncommon screwdriver, a specific battery, a soldering pencil and solder).
Here's a video that shows the entire process: You will need access to a soldering pencil in order to remove the battery. If your school has an electronics class, you could maybe access one there. Otherwise they're actually not that expensive and are honestly not a bad tool to have around if you have a lot of retro games.

The clock battery died in my Pokémon Advance cartridge so i can't pick berries. And in my Mario Bros Deluxe cartridge so the calendar stopped working.
But i'm glad each of my save batteries still function!

It's actually pretty easy, you just need to be able to solder the new one on.
Personally though, I would use the opportunity to install a CR2032 clip, so that the next time this happens, all you need to do is pop the battery out and pop the new one in. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10x-CR2025-CR20...ctupt=true |
