I've been watching the Orville since it's season 1 premiere in 2017. I love the show and after today's episode decided to open this topic. Here we can talk about recent episodes or favourite moments or whatever.

My family members watch it, but I've only seen little bits and pieces of it.

I don't really like it because I don't get the humor.

I've actually heard good things but haven't ever checked it out because I don't find McFarlane very funny at all

The humour is present, but not the focus of the show. The show finds its strengths in character-driven moments and tackling social issues and questions. The episode "A Happy Refrain" from season 2 is an excellent example of the former and another episode "Majority Rule" is an excellent example of the latter.

I highly recommend these episodes as they are highpoints in the show. Not the highest points, a more recent episode has taken the top spot. Of course, I still recommend watching the entire show, but I'll ultimately that is your decision.
