Alright everyone. I have a big suggestion to make here. As you all know, Super Mario Maker 2 was just released for the Nintendo Switch on June 28th, 2019 and is extremely popular across the Internet right now. I've seen thousands of videos, pictures and commentary of people playing levels, along with sharing them as well on many highly profilic websites such as YouTube, reddit, GameFAQs/GameSpot Twitch, Twitter, etc.
Mario Fan Games Galaxy was founded 18 years ago on the idea and goal of creating your own Mario levels. I feel that Super Mario Maker 2 makes that dream a reality, and with more ease than ever before. Back in 2005, a game like Super Mario Maker 2 would have been the apex of our wildest dreams and fantasies. I know it was mine. It captures the wondrous essence and and creative spirit of Mario fangaming perfectly.
I believe the stars have aligned and it's a perfect opportunity for MFGG to take advantage of that by adding Super Mario Maker 2 (and 1!) levels to the Main Site.
There would be varying Categories to search for a level based on:
Game:
- Super Mario Maker 2 (Nintendo Switch)
- Super Mario Maker 1 (Wii U, 3DS?)
Type of Game:
- Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Super Mario World
- New Super Mario Bros. U
- Super Mario 3D World* (*SMM2 only)
Difficulty:
- Very Easy
- Easy
- Normal
- Hard
- Kaizo
- Very Short
- Short
- Normal
- Long
- Very Long
I feel that adding SMM2 and SMM levels to the main site would generate in A LOT of traffic and activity to the main site and forums, and would be the exact same audience that we've always been trying to get. In order for MFGG to stay relevant, we absolutely need to embrace Nintendo's official solution to creating your own Mario levels. @VinnyVideo, a few of the other staff members and I have been discussing this at length and I would like to hear your guys brainstorming and suggestions.
