We need to talk about Super Crown Land.
The game has plenty of faults. I tried to play with a DualShock4 using DS4Windows and the camera was constantly rotating. I know Despair had this issue with Prism, but AFAIK he didn't with this game. I couldn't play using KB+M only because there was no control configuration and no key I pressed was set as select. I was able to play using my iBuffalo SNES controller, which isn't ideal since that meant my only camera control was the automatic rotation or holding down the right trigger to move it to facing where Bowsette was. Not snap to, but move to, and due to d-pad digital input, it was choppy if held. It needs to be a quick snap to when it isn't in a close vicinity, and not actually move when held and your direction of looking isn't changing much. This would be a good deal of work, but its a massive quality of life improvement. The physics aren't horribly slick, but are still frustratingly loose. I can also rebound off of walls instead of wall kick at times, but the wall kick is also very sticky when I'm just trying to platform up donut blocks. There isn't detection for automatic travel onto a slightly raised surface, which means you have to do small hops that are a paint to control. It is a weird duality of the game not responding in how I wish it. The box on the second Goomba level became stuck on a tree, and I stopped. There's a hundred more problems from my witnessing of Despair play to the final level. Especially the inconsistent, likely stolen fan art and music that should, imo disqualify it from being on the website. I also don't think the music and sound effects match up at all, but he literally has just plugged in various things from different sources.
But ultimately, its functional, and playable, and most importantly: fixable. Hello is competent and these elements I've described in only playing the first two levels would account for massive improvements in game feel that would encompass the whole game.
But y'all? 0. -2. 1. 1. 0.
You're attacking his personage and decrying this as the worst game you've played and I almost can't believe how strong memes can really be. Claims of trolling and other inane s*** all wrapped in legitimate critiques of the game. That's the worst part. Y'all are deriding it with legitimacy but can't stop yourselves from treating it like something that is utterly nonfunctional. Additionally, this doesn't scale at all to the quality of the other content on this website. This isn't conducive to improvement, even if Hello is unyielding, and creates a horrible environment for actually discussing how to improve. Can you imagine someone coming to the site, seeing Hello make this and its more competent than what they could make at their skill level, and the absolute s*** that it receives?
I'd say I expected better from MFGG, but . . . .
